CIS brings together Stanford University faculty and graduate
students, across a range of technical fields including Electrical
Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering,
Materials Science and Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. Affiliated
faculty number over 50, and each year over 200 of Stanford's top
graduate students participate in CIS programs, where they interact with
senior researchers, managers, and executives (in similar technical
areas) at our partner companies. CIS alumni can be found in senior
research and executive positions in top companies throughout the world.
Within Stanford University, CIS is a multidisciplinary
research center directly under the Dean of the School of Engineering.
We are advised by an Advisory Committee of executive-level
representatives from all our partner companies, and we report to an
Executive Committee drawn from CIS affiliated faculty. CIS is led by
its Director of Research, Dr. Yoshio Nishi, and its Executive Director,
Dr. Richard Dasher.
